About Blumenkönig Studio

Wolfgang Blumenkönig is an Alaska-grown music teacher and composer. He grew up in Eagle River, and started my musical journey playing his father's old cello in sixth grade orchestra.

Soon Wolfgang began exploring piano and composition, and after receiving a guitar as a gift from my parents, has continued to explore the wide world of stringed instruments. While earning his BA in English at the University of Alaska Anchorage, he performed alongside UAA students and faculty on Baroque Cello and Viola da Gamba, and composed an original score for a stage production his senior year.

After moving to Palmer, Wolfgang has grown from teaching part-time in a music school to launching his business Blumenkönig Studio in 2019. Wolfgang also works as a performer and recording artist for musical theater ensembles, bands, and live events like weddings, memorial services, and fundraisers in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough and Anchorage Municipality.

In addition to education and performance, Wolfgang is a classically-trained composer who writes arrangements and original works in a variety of styles and genres, and he encourages exploring composition and improvisation as part of a well-rounded musical education.
